This year, WA Mental Health Week will be held from 5 to 12 October 2024. The Western Australian Association for Mental Health (WAAMH) has revealed the artwork for 2024.
WAAMH explains that the artwork conveys the sense of a journey of empowerment and achievement that is at the heart of this year’s theme and recovery itself:
“The imagery of people atop a hill or mountain symbolises the journeys and the successes of people who’ve experienced mental ill-health, and the feeling of power that comes with achievement. The fists in the air are symbolic of power and strength, while the two people represent a sense of community. The purple and green are colours associated with spirituality, inspiration, creativity, imagination, compassion and wisdom.”
