Join us during Schizophrenia Awareness Week for this FREE Mental Health First Aid course.
Running over 2 days, you will learn:
- how to assist someone who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis (so not just suicide awareness)
- the signs and symptoms of various mental health problems
- where and how to get help, and
- what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
Participants receive a copy of the Standard MHFA manual and are eligible to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider for three years after sitting a short online assessment.
Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until the appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
This event is proudly free to the community by MIFWA for Schizophrenia Awareness Week 2021.
