Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis. Like physical first aid, mental health first aid is given until the person receives professional help or until the crisis resolves.
Mental Health First Aid is based on the International MHFA Guidelines and is evidence based on best practice. This course runs over 2 days.
You will learn:
- how to assist someone who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis (so not just suicide awareness)
- the signs and symptoms of various mental health problems
- where and how to get help, and
- what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
This course costs $300. For more information, give us a call on 9237 8900.
