Learn skills and gain confidence to assist people experiencing Mental Health problems
Running over two days, you will learn:
- how to assist someone who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis (so not just suicide awareness)
- the signs and symptoms of various mental health problems
- where and how to get help, and
- what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
Mental Health First Aid is based on the International MHFA Guidelines and is evidence based on best practice.
Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until the appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
Please note this course is only free for family carers who are registered with MIFWA and not paid carers.
