Recently, we brought MIFWA’s incredible peer workforce together at the historical Guildford Hotel for a day of connection, collaboration, and insight!
We had some amazing guest speakers, including:
- Trish Tran, who provided a powerful look back at the history of peer work.
- Samantha Scott, who shared updates on where we are today in MIFWA’s peer programs.
- Akira Gaynor, who moved us with her lived experience story as a carer.
- Naomi Bowran, who closed with a forward-looking address on where we’re going and the future for peer work at MIFWA.
We also invited our former Lived Experience Lead, Hayley Harris, to MC.
💬 Participant Feedback:
“I felt very appreciated, and it was great to hear about the progress MIFWA is making in peer work!”
The event offered our team an invaluable opportunity to learn, connect, and grow together. As we continue building a strong, supportive peer workforce, it’s events like these that remind us of the power of lived experience and peer support in creating meaningful change.
