Who is this course for?
The Standard Mental Health First Aid course is for anyone who would like to learn simple, practical first aid skills for helping a family member, friend, co-worker or other person who is experiencing mental health problems
Course information
• An accredited course.
• This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
• Topics include depression, anxiety, substance use, suicidal thoughts and behaviours, and psychosis.
• On completion of post- course assessment, participants will be accredited as a Mental Health First Aider for 3 years.
• You’ll also be entitled to a 30% discount off the Standard Mental Health First Aid Refresher course in 3 years’ time when you enrol to extend your accreditation for a further 3 years.
This course is not a therapy or support group, it is an education course to learn how to give mental health first aid to others.
This workshop is presented in partnership with Holyoake and the Wheatbelt Suicide Prevention Project.
