Mental Health First Aid is based on the International MHFA Guidelines and is evidence based on best practice.
Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until the appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
Running over 2 days, you will learn:
- how to assist someone who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis (so not just suicide awareness)
- the signs and symptoms of various mental health problems
- where and how to get help, and
- what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
Cost: $300 + Eventbrite booking fee. Morning and afternoon tea provided.
There are limited FREE spaces available for unpaid carers of a family member. Please email training@mifwa.org.au to enquire.
